In 1995 Jan Scott began her makeup artist career in New York City. Working as a freelance makeup artist gave her the opportunity to work with and learn from other experts in the field. Jan was on the special Team of Makeup Artists with Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. She worked throughout New York and New Jersey doing special in-store events, charity events (Dress For Success, political fund raisers) and fashion shows (Soap Opera Digest, Fashion Week NYC). Jan also established her own business doing on-site makeup applications for actor head shots, brides and their bridal parties, family portraits, black tie affairs, music videos , and print work. Jan is a Certified Volunteer with the ‘Look Good…Feel Better’ program sponsored by the American Cancer Society. This program is for women experiencing the effects of chemotherapy. Jan teaches these women how to apply makeup as well as skin care tips. Residing in the D.C. area since 2004, Jan continues to work as an independent professional makeup artist. With clients sending her referrals, personal thank you notes as well as publishing reviews on the internet, she has established herself as an extremely talented makeup artist. Jan believes that makeup is the best accessory and you should use it to enhance your own individuality. School of Visual Arts, NYC
